Compare the same scope in writing: the named surgeon, who performs each stage, the proposed treatment, total price and currency, included aftercare, and any extra travel or follow-up costs. A low headline price alone does not establish value or suitability.
Start with the same scope
Ask each clinic for a dated, written proposal for your own assessment. A package advertisement is not a personal quote. Record whether the amount is fixed or provisional, when it expires, and what could change it.
- Named surgeon and the team’s role at each stage.
- Clinician-proposed procedure and graft estimate, if assessed. A graft count is not a result guarantee.
- Currency, deposit, balance due date and cancellation conditions.
- Consultation, tests, medications, first wash and follow-up inclusions.
Compare the total you would actually pay
Keep the clinic price separate from the trip budget. Add consultation charges, accommodation, transport, meals, time away and any return visits. Write ‘unknown’ for a missing amount instead of counting it as zero.
If using points for flights, include award taxes, fees and the availability of seats for the required dates. A points balance does not confirm a booking. Keep the exchange-rate date beside any currency conversion.
Check the evidence behind the offer
Verify the surgeon’s name and registration with the relevant authority for the destination. Ask who is accountable for your treatment and which steps are performed by the named surgeon. Clinic marketing and professional memberships are useful leads, not substitutes for verification.
- Ask for relevant, clearly documented actual patient results and their follow-up period.
- Ask who handles complications, where follow-up takes place and who pays for additional care.
- Record the source and date for each claim. Distinguish a clinic statement from an independently checked record.
Resolve gaps before paying a deposit
Request one short written clarification covering every missing item. If a clinic cannot confirm the surgeon, terms or aftercare, keep that uncertainty visible in the comparison. Only your clinician can assess whether a plan is appropriate for you.
Hairline Desk documents these commercial and logistical differences. Our $499 research fee is separate from clinic charges, and we receive no clinic referral commissions.
